HOODCO, Inc is a family operated business which began with Mike Hood's grandfather and father, in 1948. The original store was located on St. Charles Rock Road in St. Louis, Missouri. In the first store you could find a variety of items, which ranged from automotive supplies to Army surplus.
There are a total of 20 Hood's stores located throughout Missouri, Alabama, and Mississippi. Mike Hood, owns and operates 8 of these Hood's stores. Six are located in Missouri: Farmington, Festus, Sullivan, Natural Bridge, Halls Ferry, and House Springs. One is located in Alabama in Foley, the other in Gulfport, Mississippi.
In 1983 he began his first store in House Springs, Missouri.
Today, Hood's Discount Home Center's "New Generation" is a store where customers can find lumber, hardware and home improvement supplies at a low price. The stock represents a well-stocked hardware store and lumber yard. The customers, can vary between builders and "Do-it yourself" shoppers. Some people will drive for miles to shop for our low price and friendly service.
